From the Political Director - Happy New Year
Although 2008 began a few days ago I wanted to wish everyone the best. The political calendar has kicked-in with the Iowa Presidential Caucuses last week, New Hampshire tonight and then Nevada and South Carolina in the ending weeks of January. (Michigan and Florida are in the mix too but outside of the DNC schedule so we’ll see what ultimately happens with those states.)
Before we get to February 5th, I wanted to share with you some photographs from Tom Bullock’s swearing–in ceremony for a city council seat in Lakewood, Ohio. You may remember that we supported Tom in his two primaries in 2007. He ultimately won in the general election by 90 votes.
I had breakfast with Tom in Lakewood on Decmber 30th. He was very happy for the assistance Twenty-First Century Democrats gave his campaign and he wanted to thank the people who made donations to him over the internet.
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown swore Tom in (along with the rest of the City Council and the new Mayor) on Saturday.

Tom Bullock’s candidacy in 2007 and Sherrod Brown’s Senate campaign in 2006 are the reason we do what we do at Twenty-First Century Democrats. We help elect progressive thinking Democrats to office because we believe that if you want to change America you have to elect people with principles and values on election day.
We’ll be rolling out our list of new endorsements in a few days. I think you’ll see good candidates who will make a progressive difference when they are elected.
Thanks for your support in 2007!
Onward to 2008!
